- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must be correct to win and the payout grows with each added selection.
- Asian Handicap
- A betting line that gives one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage, removing the draw as an option and making odds more balanced.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of deciding how much money you can afford to risk on bets and sticking to that limit.
- Bet Builder
- An online tool that lets you combine different outcomes from the same match, such as goals, corners, and cards, into one wager.
- Both Teams To Score (BTTS)
- A market where you predict whether each side will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event finishes, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Corner Kick Bet
- A wager on how many corner kicks will be awarded in a match, either over or under a set number.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible results (home win or draw, away win or draw, etc.) in one wager.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet on a team to win; if the game ends in a draw, your stake is returned automatically.
- Edge
- The perceived advantage a bettor thinks they have over the bookmaker’s odds, indicating a potentially profitable opportunity.
- Expected Goals (xG)
- A statistic that estimates how many goals a team should score based on the quality of its shots, helping to judge performance beyond the final score.
- First Goalscorer
- A market where you select the player you think will score the first goal of the match.
- Handicap Betting
- A bet that applies a points or goal handicap to a team, so the outcome is decided after the handicap is added or subtracted.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is being played, with odds that change as the action unfolds.
- Lay Bet
- A bet that a specific outcome will not happen, offered mainly on betting exchanges, essentially acting as the bookmaker.
- Live Odds
- The constantly updating odds shown during a live event, reflecting the current state of the game.
- Margin
- The built-in profit margin a bookmaker includes in the odds, expressed as a percentage that ensures they make money over time.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals, cards, or other statistics will be above or below a figure set by the bookmaker.
- Payout
- The total amount of money a bettor receives when a bet wins, including the original stake plus any profit.
- Risk Management
- Strategies and habits that help bettors control the size of their bets and protect their bankroll from big losses.
- Spread Betting
- A type of bet where the profit or loss is determined by how accurate your prediction is relative to a set line, rather than a simple win/lose outcome.
- Stake
- The amount of money you put on a bet, which determines the size of your potential win or loss.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true chance of that outcome, giving you a positive expected return over time.
- Void Bet
- A bet that is cancelled and the stake is returned, usually because the event was postponed or a rule made the market void.
- Yellow Card Market
- A wager on how many yellow cards will be shown in a match, either over/under a certain number or on specific players.
